I am updating more frequently these days, am I not? LOL
Gosh, there are plenty of work to do and they need to be done before I can take on the next job.
I've been working hard on this little side-business of mine lately. Trying to accomplish a few things here and there.
The custom shoes thingy is really taking off and I am happy that this could be the next big thing (at least for me, anyway).
Small talk aside, lemme show what I painted so far...
Beware, folks!
What you're about to see is something extremely cute and you may get infected by the highly contagious, Aww(CUTE) Syndrome.
You've been warned.
So Lo and behold,
Mr Men & Little Miss Shoes

-if you watch cartoons, you may know what they are-
A Damn Dirty blog reader, Huixin of http://huixinism.blogspot.com/ asked me to paint a pair of customize shoes for her not too long ago.
It took me several shoes to paint before finally gotten my hands on hers.
Her shoes, I mean...
dun tink stupid-stupid okeh?
-___-"
she decided (after much soul searching, heh) to have me incorporate something cartoonish and cute. vintage, fun and full of colors and life. Like an image on a vintage cereal box.
And since I was given several cartoon images to choose from ,
I opted for Mr. Men & Little Miss characters which I think were very suitable and also very colorful.

-a closer look-
In order to give these shoes a vintage feel, I had to go for 'dull and worn out' colors. Mixing white paint in every primary and secondary colors to decrease their strength, giving them a pale appeal.

-inner side view-
Color coordination is crucial when it comes to painting shoes.
There is need for balance and since we're talking about a 'pair' of shoes with more than a dozen of tiny colorful cartoon characters to be painted all over them, there's a possibility that one side can out-weight the other in terms of color and image.
To avoid that, I spent a lot of times sitting, observing and staring at these shoes, as if they're going to start walking on their own. Heh
It's my OCD,
I swear...

-outer side view-
So yeah, I am actually thinking of starting my own label for these custom shoes.
I've already thought of a really kick-ass brand name
(I tell you later)
and I also might open a Facebook account for them for a little more exposer.
More later.
Ciao!
