Dad came into my room yesterday while I was checking out some random Youtube videos and in front of me, he placed a pair of old custom shoes I did for my sister 4-5 years ago. They had been hiding in the shoe closet all these while and I thought they were no longer around but hey, here they are! Alive and kickin!

I guess I can say these are my very first hand painted custom shoes...



These are actually white canvas Nike sneakers which my sister used during high school. Right after she left school, she asked me if I could make her shoes look less like 'school shoes' so she could wear them out.
Cos y'know, if they're still wearable, why not just wear them, yes?


I know I'm to blame for the lack of creativity but back then, I didn't have the resources or the knowledge to paint shoes like I do today so I opted for fabric markers which can be easily obtained from art stores.



The shoes... well, it's no rocket science. I didn't give the design much of a thought, really. I just thought maybe writing some random words on it would be cool and very punk rock... What was I thinking??!
But rather than doodling or simply write whatever shit, my idea was to cut out random words in different fonts and styles found in magazines.





Place the cut out firmly on the shoe surface and carefully paint within the cut outs...

And you'll get something like this.


Nanyway, cut out as many words you can manage and repeat the same process above with fabric marker in different colors. Try to fill up the whole shoes. And oh, you might wanna purchase some colorful shoe laces too to add a little stylish touch to the shoes.

Honestly, I had a lazy week last week and my spare times were spent on sleeping and naps but I'm feeling motivated this week so expect more update on this blog.
